Tupper Family

  My Great Great Grandmother was Dora Tupper daughter to Charles and Orange Tupper. Dora had two marriages due to untimely death. My Great Great Grandfather Fred Henthorne died when my Great Grandfather was 4 or 5. His name was Chancey Henthorne. She was later remarried to William Loshbaugh and they had 4 kids Lettia, Roy, Marvel, Cleva Loshbaugh. I have never seem much of his half brothers and sisters before, but have been trying to contact them. This is a picture of Chancey and his kids. Left to right you have Albert, Chancey, Carrie, Eualah and Buelah Henthorne. Eualah and Buelah were twins. Not in this pic is my grandfather Charles Wesley Henthorne which is in the other pic. I know very little about my grandpa brothers and sisters, we have some relationship with Eulah kids but not sure where any of the other kids families are. My mom is Charles daughter and her name is Nina Joann Reaves. She has a sister Ellen, and three brothers Charles jr, Billy, and Clifford.

  Posted by Deb Jordan This is Melissa Main b. Oct 1, 1820, Sharon, Kalkaska County, Michigan. She married Myron Tupper Sep 24, 1839. Charles Elihu Tupper was born to Myron and Melissa Oct. 3, 1842 in Ionia county, Michigan. She died Dec 26, 1850 in Lake Odessa, Ionia County, Michigan

Posted by Deb Jordan This is Elizabeth Jane Olmstead. She married Jabez Lumbert Feb. 2, 1837 in Allen County, Indiana. Jabez and Elizabeth were the parents of Orange Lumbert who married Charles Tupper Sep 14 1860 in Odessa, Ionia county, Michigan. She died July 19 , 1887 in Goddard, Kansas and is burried in the Afton Cemetery/Pleasant Ridge north of the town of Goddard. Her grave and the grave of Jabez is not marked. However I visited with a the gentleman back in the 1970's who had the cemeter plot map and records. Jabez had purchased 5 plots all next to each other. The other 3 plots have Washington Lumbert and his wife and a daughter buried there.  

  This group is primarily for those related to Charles and Orange Tupper, but we welcome anyone related to this line of Tuppers. Charles Tupper was born in 10/3/1842 in Ionia, MI to Myron Tupper and Melissa Main. He married Orange Lumbert in 9/14/1860 in Odessa, MI. Him and his family moved to Kansas around 1871. Orange Lumbert died around 1895 and he remarried a Louisa Coats on 3/14/1901 in Kansas. Charles Tupper died on 4/25/1910 in Colwich, KS. Orange Lumbert was born in 4/28/1838 in Wayne County, NY to Jabez Lumbert and Elizabeth Olmstead. She died on 6/30/1895 in Colwich, KS.
